Truth be told, I originally ordered a straight wig for my Sadness cosplay, but I couldn’t bring myself to wear it when the time came! One thing I love about cosplays is you can customize them to your personal style and preferences. It doesn’t have to be exact, cater to you!

These glasses are MASSIVE and seriously so cute! But sadly, wildly popular, as they’re out of stock on all the websites I checked! You may have better luck searching, but if all else fails, I’ve added an alternative option. Any round, harry potter-esque glasses will do. The bigger the better!

I absolutely loved the oversized fit of this sweater, and the stretch made it super easy to pull over my afro with zero issues. However, this is the most expensive item on this guide and there are definitely cheaper alternatives, including your local thrift!

Blue leggings are a must! Unfortunately, the ones I got seem to go out of stock from time to time, so I’ve added a second option in case a replacement is hard to find!

The cutest addition to Sadness, ballet flats! Still, these can be subbed for regular shoes, blue or otherwise!

This face paint is a lifesaver! I almost gave up on this cosplay and I probably would have without this palette. I used it for a prior cosplay, and it came in clutch for Sadness. However, you can definitely use another face paint palette with more accurate colors for Sadness. My Sadness ended up being a darker blue/indigo, but I didn’t mind!

Originally, I used this body paint for my face but it was hard to work with, I’d say there’s definitely a learning curve. But it didn’t go to waste, I used it to paint my legs and found it much easier! To set the paint I used the corresponding powder and it worked great!

For the final touch, add this wireless LED ball to your costume! This LED ball comes with a charger (no block) and with a full charge it can last for hours!

I hope this guide helps bring your Sadness to life! Stay tuned for more Halloween costume ideas! 🍂🎃👻
